Someday I won’t be able to add leaves to our family tree of gratefulness, today is NOT that day!
Each year on Thanksgiving one of us constructs a paper tree to hang on our wall and all six of us make leaves and write something that we love about each other on them. Before hanging our leaves we try to guess who is being referenced as we take turns reading our leaves out loud and the person with the most correct guesses wins. Some years our tree is a beautifully created work of art and other years it’s slapped up pieces of paper, but every year the leaves are made with love and the best part of the holidays for me. They are a beautiful reminder of the truth I find in one of my favorite quotes, “We may not have it all together, but together we have it all”. I often feel like chaos reigns supreme in our lives leaving us constantly unraveling at our seems, but through all life’s ups and downs our heartstrings remain tightly bound together and that’s all that matters.
Today was bound by love!
